“This review is for the Horseshoe Bay branch. These people seem to organize well and know what they are doing. Selection was good for craft beer, and managed to pick up fresh non-Vancouver bottles and cans.“

“Long are gone the days when Jamey was filling this store with great beer at decent prices; they moved a bit and renovated, the interior is the best among the BCL stores, but the beer selection is not as great as it used to be.“

“I stopped here once, it was maybe 2014; the Village is a nice mall area, mainly around holiday season; the place is just one of the many pubs for the mildly informed beer drinker, focusing on games on tv, but also with a decent beer list and nice atmosphere; think of it like a Cactus Club with more beer.“

“The best BC Liquor store in province. Good selection and awesome price compared to the private liquor stores. Ask Jamey if you have any questions about beer.“

“The only decent bar in West Vancouver that has a reasonable tap list. Modern interior, not that unlike an Earl’s / Joey’s / Milestone’s. 20 taps, but mostly macro and pseudo-micro, with a few decent ones (Fat Tug and Back Hand of God being the only [semi-]interesting ones). Prices are reasonable and the service is very friendly. Would never choose to come here, but I got invited to a work function.“

“One of the best BC Liquor stores, with quite an impressive selection. Prices are of course the lowest you’ll find in the province, along with the other government stores. If you’re nearby, check this place for interesting beers before paying the markups at the private stores.“

“One of the largest and most profitable stores in town, they get away with ordering off the regular catalog of standard SKU’s. Service is poor unless you talk to the beer manager, he is passionate and fun. Prices are the best in town with the low government markup and they like to bring in weird and wonderful stuff. If you are looking for something pricey, call them first.“

“A high end store, everyone is dressed better than I was, but small. Very trendy and a nice but small little bottle selection. With so little space you get a decent amount of locals and imports. If you can’t find it close by they may still have it.“

“A lodge like interior with a huge bar and big seating. In the heart of a expensive outdoor plaza, it’s nice to see something crafty. But that is what it is the trendy craft. Nothing special here just pseudo and the milder side of craft. Service was pretentious and not that good considering we were almost the only ones in. Prices were high for food, but they did have a tasting flight. I would not come back, just too uptiy without the substance.“

“Nice big airy store in a very nice part of town. Thankfully lots of free parking in the area. Service was great, with a staff that has tried and can talk about most of the beers. Prices were good competed to the rest of BC. A great store, likely one of the best in town.“

“Decent little place in Park Royal Shopping Centre. Not close to the selection that the best bottle shops in Greater Van have, but certainly nothing to scoff at either. Prices seem to be average for most off-licenses and the staff are very friendly. Worth stopping by if you’re at Park Royal, but with 16th Street Liquor just a few minutes away, there’s no point making an extra effort to come here.“

“Quite a good store with a decent selection of beers, including the largest selection of De Molen (my favourite brewery) beers I’ve seen in Vancouver. They especially have a large selection of Belgians, and it is nicely laid out. They often seem to have beers before the other Vancouver beer stores and don’t sell out quite as quickly. The staff are very knowledgable and quick to point out when they have new beers in stock. They tweet updates regularly as well. Price-wise they are quite reasonable, definitely cheaper than a lot of the other private stores. Worth a visit if you are beer hunting in Vancouver. They give a discount to CAMRA members too.“

“For the size of their store, there have a wide selection of craft beers, and there are new ones in each week. Some staff know their beer. Prices are lower than some private liquor stores too. Worth checking out if you are in the area.“

“Certainly has the best collection of beers on the North Shore, especially if you are looking for some West Coast American ones. A very good selection of 6 packs and 650s, though some can be a bit on the pricier side, which is to be expected at the private stores. Very knowledgeable staff!“

“Great place in West Van. Good, extensive selection of craft beers from around the world. Good selection of local, PNW, USA along with a great Belgian/European selection. All displayed either direct on shelf or in the fridges on the wall. Prices do seem cheaper than most other stores visited. And for those with deeper pockets, there is possibly the best Single Malt Whisky selection in the city!!“

“I don’t know why this place is here: I don’t think that English style pubs are impressive out of England, and I didn’t see interesting beers on tap; on top of this, they don’t do samplers. Vancouver has better to offer.“

“Been there only once, in 2010, the selection seemed to be large and with a couple of new beers for me. For the rest, it’s just a quite big liquor store.“

“This place used to be my favourite liquor store in Greater Vancouver. But once Chris (ex-manager) and Gerry left, the place went down the tubes. They no longer get many seasonals and limited beers. And much of their stock is expired/rotten, so be careful what you’re buying. Hopefully they will turn it back around.“

“This is by far the best beer shop in the greater Vancouver area at the current time. The premises used to be the Ambleside provincial liquor store but, after the BCLC moved to newer, smaller digs right on Marine Drive, this store was sold off to private interests. While the interior itself is stark and over lit the offerings are worth the visit. With a very impressive selection of wine and liquor you’d think beer might have been an after thought...but no. There are a wide selection of Belgian and European beers on offer as well as arguably the best selection of U.SA. micros in the city. Probably 60% of the inventory is shelved or floored with the rest refrigerated in six side by side display fridges. While standard beer offerings for joe sixpack are available it’s clear from the stock list that they care more about the aficionado. Prices are the best I’ve seen in the city with bottles and sixes selling for roughly 10-20% cheaper than Viti, Brewery Creek or Firefly. The staff are very knowledgeable and eager, especially Chris who cares about the category more than just about anybody I’ve ever met in Canadian beer retail. If you are passing through Vancouver I’d strongly suggest making the trip over the Lion’s gate bridge to check this place out.“

“Nothing unusual on tap other than Howe Sound Bitter and Spring Lager , as well as Pale, 1516, Dead Frog, Boddingtons, Guinness, Stella, Kilkenny. Bitter was pricey, $7.50 an English pint, but very good. Service was amazing, food was very good, somewhat upscale. If you like the Howe Sound, definitely worth a visit.“
