78 /100 C/ CONSELL DE CENT 261 Visited on Friday 8th March 2024, around 1800.
12 taps of Garage beers, not 8 as per the RB info, is that much of a chore to update shit like this for places you bunch of windy fucking cunts???
Brew kit at the rear, long thinnish place, mixed of high stools and edge shelf away from the bar changing to lower more relaxed seating at the rear. Half pour / Full pour, as someone else mentioned a 'NO FLIGHTS' sign behind the bar. They'll toss you a taster or two though. All beers were Garage so the usual well brewed stuff from them ... largely hops on offer but also stouts, sours and bitter going. Service prompt and friendly, place was getting busier nearer to 1900 as I left. Does wine and spirits also for non beer drinkers and a fridge of Garage cans for take away, and drink in I presume. As you likely now just a stones throw from Bier Cab. Decent bar.
12 taps was mentioned in a review 7 years ago FFS! |
80 /100 BierCaB (Bar) MUNTANER 55 Visited on Friday 8th March around 1900, having first popped to the shop next door to collect an order. Medium sized bar with a decent tap list .... perhaps 25 on show. Would have liked more ESP beers, quite a few interesting US and other Euros so can see why this venue tops the list in Barca (from a Spanish based tickers perspective anyhow). The one let down for me ... they only do beer. No wine, no spirits. Every other venue I visited in Barca at least had a wine available. This meant my visit was limited to 2 half pours as my non beer drinking wife didn't just want to watch me drink beer funny enough!!! Service was prompt and friendly and we had a few plates of tapas which were decent for a beer venue. There's still an RB Best award winner poster on the wall (2015 IIRC) ... funny enough the only other one of these I've seen in recent years was in Spain in a bar in Madrid. Overall a solid stop just wish they could allocate the space for half a dozen bottles of wine to include non beer drinkers ... they would certainly have got a good bit more business from me if that had been the case! |
80 /100 BierCaB ShoP (Beer Store) MUNTANER 55 RB places are pretty dead aren't they ... mine being only the third review since lockdown for this venue! I also edited the number of bottles available from 650 to 350. As with many bottle stores they have clearly downsized their stock levels post covid, and 350 may be a little generous but certainly well into the hundreds in terms of choice. I placed an online order (late Feb '24) to collect in store comprising 20 or so beers, largely hoppy ESP stuff allied to a few BA impy stouts from Transient.
The online experience was okay ... annoying that beers show up then say sold out when you click on them, no filter for this. Prices were pretty fair on most things but a little random on some of the big US BA impy stouts ... fair prices on some with Transients as low as 23/24 Euros but a few Cycle beers available elsewhere for 45/50 priced at 70!
I also struggled to check out of my order ... seemed it didn't like a non Spanish contact address (even though I'd clearly clicked in store pick up). I ended up entering my hotel details and managed to get the order through.
I arrived in store on the evening of Fri 8th March to collect and all was there ready and waiting, a smooth transaction, friendly guy behind the counter. I also added a few more Soma IPA's ... these seem to come in and fly out (sold out) pretty damn quick.
Overall a little bit of a clunky interaction but good choice and fair prices for what I wanted. |
62 /100 MARGARIT,52 Visited October 2023.
Place was empty. Service was quite friendly and we like the small brewery setup.
Next one please! |
74 /100 Humble Beer (Bar) C/ DEL ROSSELLÓ, 185 Visited october 2023.
Centrally located. Small place with a good beer selection and a friendly service. Interesting music.
Next one please! |
62 /100 GRAN VIA DE LES CORTS CATALANES, 604 Visited October 2023.
Lot of their own beers on tap. They dont brew here, but in the former Freddo Fox.
Next one please! |
84 /100 Hoppiness (Bar) RAMON TURRÓ, 180 Visited, 6th and 7th February 2024, with colleagues, Matthijs, Mads and Vincent, this place was perfectly placed between my Hilton and where they were in the Novotel. On Tuesday 6th it was fairly quiet, Matthijs, Vincent and I had a table inside, it’s small but cosy, the bar is nice with 14 beers on tap, the types are written on boards above the bar. We had IPA, Triple IPA, Hefeweizen, Pils, Imperial Stout, IPL, Tripel and others. All beers were Spanish and mostly local except one Fuerst from Germany. We also had food, which was nice, burgers, iberico ham. The service is friendly. The second night, Wednesday was pretty packed out, we sat out in the terrace, it’s was great fun |
90 /100 La Rovira (Bar) CARRER RABASSA 23 Visited on Wednesday afternoon around 3pm, 10th January 24. The venue is in a lovely square with some elegant character buildings, I took a taxi here from the Barcelona Hilton, it was too far to walk and I only had an hour, then back to colleagues, plus it was one of the few that was open all day, most bars seemed to open at 5pm. The bar itself is really open, lots of locals, most having coffees, it felt authentic. The beer list was great, many IPAs, including one of their own, which was great. Barman was happy to give samples, I think it was only half’s or pints, but didn’t check. I would go back to this place, my favourite that I visited in this trip |
80 /100 BierCaB (Bar) MUNTANER 55 Popped in here for a couple after a long walk around Barcelona, at least 10km, Tuesday 9th January 24. There is a small fridge as you enter and the bar is quite long, with bar stools, and around 20 taps. I had a couple of decent beers, only half’s and pints. Friendly staff. Decent place |
74 /100 C/ CONSELL DE CENT 261 Visited on Tuesday 9th January 2024. First beer trip, (work travel) of the year. The place is a minutes walk from Biercab, so very handy to combine, as I didn’t have much time. The place has the bar to the right of the entry, with a chalk board displaying the beers, I think 12 or so. I went for what was advertised as a Black IPA, wasn’t great. There were a few in, and the atmosphere was nice enough |
64 /100 Drunkat (Beer Store) CARRER DEL TOPAZI 16, LOCAL 2 Small basement store/bar. Maybe 50 beers, some Spanish/local selection also. A lax place with not too many seats, more of a bottle shop. Staff was friendly. No wi-fi and also low cellular signal due to structures. |
76 /100 PLAÇA PAU VILA 1 The wife and I walked here from the cruise terminal well we wer sight seeing took. Small indoor seating area that no one was in and some open air seating that was shaded. 8 or so beers on tap and a cider with a couple of guest taps. We had food that was decent and the beers were good to great. Nice place for a brew. |
88 /100 C/ CONSELL DE CENT 261 Cozy little venue tucked away in a busy street.
They specialize in IPA’s so you gotta know that going in.
The staff is awesome. The vibe is friendly and inviting. The beers are solid and the food is fantastic.
Definitely got hit this one if you’re taking in the local Barca beer scene.
Hit pants and I have been here three nights running. |
82 /100 BierCaB (Bar) MUNTANER 55 I kinda stopped rating places but this one is a must I guess! Loved the interieur and the roof. Service was super quick, prices were fair, taplist was solid. Beer condition was not impeccable, but nothing to complain about. Food looked tasty. Solid place, though perhaps not exactly Top5 worldwide for me. |
80 /100 PLAÇA PAU VILA 1 Great spot in city center. Lots of BlackLab brews on tap, available as flights. Fiendly service and nachos came with the beer. |
52 /100 Flaherty’s (Bar) PLAZA JOAQUIM XIRAU Only popped in as my partner is half Irish. Not a 'real' Irish pub, a bit fake, but still, friendly staff, decent enough decor, average beer. |
66 /100 Okasional Beer (Beer Store) CASANOVA, 11 Visited October 2022, pre Mash 22.

78 /100 CARRER DE CASP, 33B Visited October 2022, after BBF22.
Next one please! |
76 /100 ArteSants (Bar) CARRER DEL GUADIANA 8 Visited October 2022, after BBF22.
Non coñecía este sitio de Barcelona e a verdade é que me encantou. O ambiente, de cervexaría de barrio, cos seus clientes locais. A pizarra de cervexas, espectacular, inclusive con algunha cervexa americana da que nunca oira falar. Prezos OK. Todo moi ben. Repetirei seguro.
Next one please! |
62 /100 Craft Barcelona (Bar) CALLE PARADIS 4 Visited October 2022,
Típico bar para turistas en Barcelona, con Karaoke e esas cousas. En canto á lista de cervexas, teñen algunha cousa local e europea ademáis de clásicos habituais.
Next one please! |
64 /100 Bodega Fermin (Bar) CARRER SANT CARLES, 18 This place was bit too local for me. It was saturday so everybody were out and busy. It's a small place so not many can sit inside. But since there is sort of plaza in front it can serve quite many.
6 taps, friendly staff, but with little English spoken here.
Some customers looked like local drunks.
Anyway if you are near the beach it's prolly the best craft place to visit. |
84 /100 Okasional Beer (Beer Store) CASANOVA, 11 It's a bottle shop which has about 4-5 taps, but not all of them are operational. Saying it's a bottle shop it operates in daytime or unless owner decides to stay bit longer than usual. I was privileged to the latter option 'cause place was still buzzing when arrived around 20:30.
Absolutely lovely service.
Worth to visit. |
68 /100 RONDA DE SANT ANTONI 39 - 43 Huge place and absolutely buzzing on friday evening. So full that queue was out of the door. They ain't big, but are bit macroish.
Anyway we managed to get the table. Beautiful place, make sure to go to downstairs (you have to anyway if you want to go to toilet).
Beer and food was so so. Quite pricey.
Staff... practical. |
62 /100 CARRER PARLAMENT 45 Small brewery in the center. List of their own beers on tap. Looks quite ok.
Staff didn't pay any attention to us at all. So it took us while to order any beers for start. Olives were quite bland and macroish.
Meh place. Looks cool thou. |
68 /100 Ølgod Barcelona (Bar) C/ HOSPITAL, 74 Maybe I wasn't walking on the main street and that might have been a problem. But side streets were full of arabic gangs, shouting, yelling having a heated argument. Maybe they were high it sure looked like it. Anyway felt bit awkward. As soon as I entered pub chaos broke loose outside. Police surrounded the nearby streets en force. I could see from the pub windows that the street I came through was blocked from both ends and some of those gang members were arrested. My gf joined here and she told me that police operation involved also further nearby streets. Well living la vida loca!
Anyway staff here was already stoned and as friendly as stoned person can be. It's a sister pub for Kaerskelder so taplist was bit similar. They do flights.
In the middle of my beers a staff member from Kaerskelder stepped in, smiled at me and explained that he actually works in this place. He is a chef. Suddenly I didn't feel hungry anymore.
Anyway visiting this place was an adventure I wouldn't like to repeat.
On a quieter day I would come back thou. |
56 /100 Beer’linale (Restaurant) C/ DEL CARME, 7 Looked like a tourist trap, felt like a tourist trap, prolly is a tourist trap. Single beer I ordered was off. Empanadas small and pricy. Table I was sitting on, greasy and worn out.
At least staff was friendly.
Wouldn't recommend. |
68 /100 Kaelderkold (Bar) CALLE CARDENAL CASAÑAS 7 A place near the borders of Gothic area. It wasn't full on friday afternoon. Couple other customers beside me. But place itself is small so no harm in that.
Staff, well staff. As friendly as 3 trips of joint smoked staff can be. They were quite high when I left.
They do flights thou price is bit expensive. 15 euro for 5x150ml. But it's definitely place to visit when in Barcelona. |
84 /100 CARRER DE SEPULVEDA, 164 Large place near the Urgell metro station. Since my hotel was nearby it was nice place to end my evening.
Nice and helpful staff. Long list of their own beers on tap. They do flights so it was extra nice.
Their tapas was good. I really liked some anchovies, absolute top quality, fatty and not over salted.
Will come back. |
64 /100 Bar Centro (Bar) CASP 55 This was a strange place. Despite of evening it was nearly empty. I think most of the time I was the only customer. Not too many taps, but beers were freshy.
Staff was most of the time chatting to each other, I cba anyway. No flights. Affordable prices. |
74 /100 CARRER DE CASP, 33B Modern hipsterish brewpub with Nordic feel. Super friendly staff. No flights. Good selection of their own beers. You can actually see the brewery whilst sitting behind the table and drinking you beer.
Might come back. |
66 /100 Cocovail Beer Hall (Bar) ARAGO 284 It's a large American-style Sports bar. Long tables, tv screens and long list of beers. Some macros, but quite a lot local craft as well. Overall quality of beers are ok, but 1 tap was slightly off.
We had chicken legs here, which were below bar. Large bones, very little meat, soaked in sweet and sticky sauce which wasn't for my taste.
Worth a visit. |
94 /100 La Rovira (Bar) CARRER RABASSA 23 I think this place was one of my favourites in Barcelona. We hit it slightly past afternoon and it was buzzing. Not a long walk from Gaudii park/museum.
Not a large place, but they have 16 beers on tap. Some of them seasonal and most of them local craft. You could see 2 fermenting tuns on the ceiling in corridor. They were operational 'cause I saw buckets preventing condensed water dropping to floor.
They do home made vermuth and simple tapas food. I have to tell you their bowl of olives were best olives I've ever tried.
Must visit place in Barcelona. |
78 /100 BrewDog Bar Barcelona (Bar) CASANOVA, 69 Contra to other places in the cluster it's almost empty when we enter and pretty much only customers when we leave. It was around 21:00.
Quite typical brewdog place, selection of beers, both local and imports. Quite expensive compared to other places. They do flights. |
78 /100 BierCaB (Bar) MUNTANER 55 Not too far from Garage, Brew Wild and Brewdog Barcelona. All in one nice cluster.
Large selection of local craft on taps.
Very busy on both nights we went here. Very good service.
They don't do flights.
Would come back.. oooh wait I did already. |
78 /100 C/ CONSELL DE CENT 261 This was my 1st place to crash in Barcelona. Quite busy for Wednesday evening. Service quite fast for Mediterranean country :)
Good selection of their own beers and couple fancy collabs too. No flights!
Food side their bocadillo wasn't quite bocadillo, but poor man burger thing.
Worth to visit. |
88 /100 Bodega Fermin (Bar) CARRER SANT CARLES, 18 Pequeño local con buena cerveza, trato muy amable. Con ganas de repetir!! |
66 /100 OMA Bistró (Restaurant) CONSELL DE CENT, 227 Parada para un brunch, un par de cervezas de barril y poco mas. |
