Chaos Theory will be back very soon.

However in a slightly different format.

James, do you know why the thread about "The End" disappeared at beerAdvocate wednesday?

The Bros deleted the initial thread after news about it was pulled from online, as they were unsure if it was a hoax or not.

If you were to revisit BA, you might notice the ponderous, nigh 400 post thread discussing the same topic.

Derek, thanks for the info. But no, I never visit BA.
As an editor, I simply don’t understand why the management of BA would pull that thread by their own initiative. Even if the whole thing was a hoax it still was a good/fun story to discuss. If nothing else BrewDogs extreme capacity in viral marketing.

I don’t understand it either, frankly. Their censorship combined with the widespread banning do make me frequently question why I spend time there. They would be much better off with a group of level-headed moderators.

Missed the boat to debate this, but what about 3F Armand d’Spirit? Clearly this is grappa like and a spirit but it is made with water, barley, wheat, hops, wild yeast. It’s just distilled geuze. That should definitely not be added. But if Armand had frozen it up to 30%, it would be added?

If you read more about freeze "distillation", it’s not like you can just keep freezing the beer ad infinitum. Eventually the frozen substrate of alchol in water medium has the same abv as the mother liquor and so freezing and chopping off the "ice" is actually just losing beer and the abv has plateaued. So that’s really where the difference in the two methods comes in.

IMO anything with an ABV over 15% is not beer.

IMO anything stuffed inside a squirrel isn’t worth a popcorn fart. This beer deserves being inside a badger. Or a sheep. Or a deer.

I can abide this...as long as the serving vessel inside is proportionally sized.

I liked Chaos Theory quite alot. I do hope you bring back How to Disappear Completely though, was that a one off? Or is it just something you haven’t gotten back around to redoing?

As for The Edge..was that beer ever bottled? I did want to try it. I almost love Brewdog’s low alc/session stuff as much as the big stuff. I liked 5AM Saint alot to.

The edge was cask only. and it was GREAT. Not sure how bottling would affect it.

There is certainly some interesting debate regarding Brewdog on various beer websites in the last couple of days. I am not a massive fan but some of their beers have been rather good especially the impressive Paradox range. The one thing that I have noticed is that Brewdog seems to be very popular in the UK and Europe but less so in the US. If Brewdog can really get a foothold in the US market they will have hit the jackpot. I visit the US every year and always seek out craft beer, when I see Brewdog stateside I am staggered at their prices. We were recently spoilt rotten here in the UK when their Hardcore was about £1 per bottle in Sainsburys supermarkets.
