The coffee ale collaboration with The Roasterie hit the shelf today. Got one in the fridge and am excited to try this a little later.

I wish the Smokestack series made it to me in ways that were not a trade. I miss them.

So, how is it?

Pretty good. It was nice to experience coffee in a beer outside of a stout. Carbonation level was very high. The beer got better as I swirled some of that carb out. The malt is well balanced to the coffee. I think the beer could have supported more coffee but I am a coffee fanatic. I’m not a fan of aged coffee flavors so drink em if you got em.

I wonder if this will make its way up to MN. Not a huge coffee drinker but I normally love coffee flavors in beer when done right.

Nice beer for the coffee lover. Boulevard did a good job with this in an ale vs the stout / porter we are familiar with for the taste. Smooth and light but full of flavor and was pleased with the result especially after the hype/letdown of the Chocolate Ale in years past. Its a buy if you can find it.
