I’m very curious about how do the collaborations between brewer(ie)s work? Do they sit down together and actually put the recipe on paper? Does one of them provide the space and the other the recipe? Or what? And there are tripartite collaborations, which are totally inscrutable to me. Could anyone help me understand better? |
Mikkeller San Diego posted some pics from a collab day on Instagram the other day. It looked like they basically just chilled all day and brewed and hammered beers, then went out for some BBQ when they were done. |
It’s basically an excuse for brewers to visit each other on business expense (I assume), have a bit of a piss-up, brew something silly that they just think up, and foist the results on a willingly gullible public at a premium price and with great publicity potential, even if it turns out to be utter crap. |
Certainly imagine the recipe goes down on paper at some point. Other than that, can easily imagine no exact blueprint to the process exists. |
Originally posted by Erlangernick I haven’t really seen many at a premium price. And generally, they tend to be solid ideas anymore, but not necessarily a required thing. I think it’s more for camaraderie. |
Erlangernick nailed it 109.5% |
