Will be traveling through Germany starting August 5th, starting in Hamburg and finishing our trip in Frankfurt. Will be attending a couple German fairs, and other amusement parks, as this is a park trip. I understand most if not all of the normal beer is always fun to drink in Germany, was looking for any suggestions on any craft beer in Germany or places to drink/buy lambic. Thanks for any help.

Cheers,
Victor

Hey, before finishing your trip in Frankfurt you can visit Wiesbaden. There is Le Petit Belge, they do a nice range of Lambic to drink on-site and also for take away. Good food aswell. Might be able to meet up there aswell.

Well both Dusseldorf and Cologne should be on your list of cities to visit. Shame you are stopping at Frankfurt because if you go further south east, you can catch a train from Frankfurt to Wurzburg and from there to Bamberg and enjoy some of the best beer in the world.

When you’re in Düsseldorf or Cologne let me know and we drink a beer together :)

Hamburg is a great place for craft beer, one of the two or three best in Germany. Top places includes Alles Elbe and Uberquell, also it’s worth checking Altes Madchen as it’s next door to the Craft Beer Store and not far from the newer shop Beyond Beer. Sadly, I fly out of Hamburg on Aug 5th so can’t join you.

Frankfurt is one of my least favorite cities in Germany, beer-wise.
So plan to spend more time before getting there rather than in Frankfurt.

As Harrisoni mentioned, there’s better beer beyond Frankfurt.

20km south of the airport there’s Maruhn; they have a monster list of beers, most are rather useless, but they were improving the international list, so maybe now they may have (non rare) lambic as well.
