Hey Chicago folks,
My wife and I will be in Chicago July 2-4. She’s got a convention she’ll be attending, and I’ll have a bit of free time. It’s been about 5 years or so since I was in Chicago, so I’m sure a bit has changed since then.
I plan on hitting the Cubs game Friday at 1:20, and the Sox game Saturday at 1:10. Sunday during the morning to afternoon will likely be spent with a trip out to New Glarus, so I’ve got Friday, Saturday and probably Sunday evenings available, and my wife may be joining me for those nights. Last time I was out I remember hitting Map Room, Hop Leaf, and Piece, GI Clybourn, and Flossmoor. I think I’d like to try to go to Local Option, Revolution, Haymarket, and maybe Half Acre this time. My wife was out a couple months ago and went to Vice District and liked that and wanted to stop in again.
Any other places or things I shouldn’t miss?
Also, are there decent beer options at Wrigley or Comerica?

Comerica??? SAY WHAT, J!?

Heartland beverage has a stand somewhere at the white sox stadium. Go to Owen and Engine and Small Bar you won’t be disappointed. As far as brewpubs check out dry hop and all rise. Local Option is getting to the point where it is easily skipped due to high prices. If you go to Half Acre check out Bad Apple.

Oh, yeah. Whoops. US Cellular. Sorry. Going to a Tigers game on July 2 on the way out (and had that open in another tab while making my post), Cubs on the 3rd, and White Sox on the 4th, and then on the way home hitting Progressive for an Indians game on the 6th .
The sponsorship of stadiums makes it tough to remember who actually plays where, hence the mixup.
So Wrigley and US Cellular.

It’s Wrigley Field and Comiskey Park. And Crawford Avenue, not Pulaski Road.
So Wrigley and US Cellular.

Pollyanna Brewing (the Heartland Beverage brewery referred to above) has our Golden Ale, "The Full Lemonty," on tap at the food stands near sections 122 and 140 at US Cellular field. Check it out!

Just me I guess, but I’d spend more time in Chicago instead of driving to New Glarus. New Glarus is great but there are plenty of great beers in Chicago you could be drinking instead of spending 5 or 6 hours in a car.

Thanks for all of the help and suggestions. As for the New Glarus versus more Chicago time, my thinking was that I’d be leaving in the morning (when no place in Chicago will be open) and getting to NG around their opening time. Spend maybe an hour and then head back. So I’m not missing out on 6 hours in Chicago, it’s more like 3 I’d guess depending on when stuff opens on Sunday. And, I’ll probably be having a fairly busy day on Sunday so a couple hours without drinking will not be a big loss as I’ll certainly make up for it that night (or so I hope). Currently at Kuhnhenn and heading to Griffin Claw next. Came here after we stopped at Jolly Pumpkin which was preceded by watching the Pirates dismantle the Tigers (sorry Derek).
