Minnesota Breweries-in-Planning 2017 Part 2

An operation called Lake City Brewing Company may be in the works for Lake City, Minnesota (southeast of Red Wing). I say "may be" because there’s some evidence that the plan is on hold or canceled, and it doesn’t seem to be far along. File under "Barely Worth Mentioning."

It’s not a brewery, but Red Cow, a beer-oriented local bar and restaurant chain, has opened a location in the Uptown Minneapolis former Green Mill space.

Cold Spring based Cidery, Milk & Honey, will open a taproom in St Joseph Minnesota on Friday, August 25th.

Claim that they will offer 8 different ciders at a time with a decent turnover rate

Updates on some St. Paul BIPs, courtesy of Jess Fleming of the Pioneer Press:

On the most recent episode of The Minnesota BeerCast, Fleming reports that both Waldmann and Yoerg plan to open their locations on 10-1-17 (a Sunday, which seems like a weird day of the week for an opening). My understanding was that Yoerg is going to have a brewing component on site along with serving the Wisconsin-contract-brewed Yoerg beer (i.e., that it will be a brewpub), but Fleming says that Yoerg is merely going to be a bar.

Fleming also reports regarding Stacked Deck: "It's a huge taproom. They have 180 seats, and it's expected February or March."

She says that Clutch plans to open in spring 2018.

surfninja at the other site wrote on Saturday, 9-9-17, "Shakopee Brew Hall is opening next Thursday." I haven't found any confirmation by Shakopee Brew Hall, and I don't know if "next Thursday" means 9-14-17 (which I would call "this Thursday") or 9-21-17.

Giesenbräu Bier Co. in New Prague opened this past weekend, according to HeadRetention at the other site. Also, according to a Giesenbräu Facebook post earlier today (9-11-17): "It's happening! We will be open this Friday 12-7 and Saturday 2 until the bier is gone! There will be Hefeweizen and Pale Ale on tap, and 750mL crowlers to go! #Dozinky #BierTogether #SoftOpening"

Ol_Johnny_Skippelwicky at the other site: "Chapel Brewing [in Dundas] was pouring a blonde and a stout at DJJD in Northfield this weekend. The blonde was fine but nothing exciting and the stout was rich and complex. The folks pouring said they'd be open in the next couple weeks."
