Portland ME advice

I’m traveling to Portland Thursday night. Should arrive between 730 and 8PM. I’ll stay for the night and then plan on heading back to Boston Friday afternoon around 430PMish. I’m mostly looking for advice on things to do within that time frame.

I’ve got a tour of allagash scheduled for 12PM

Foundation is right across the street. Bissell Brothers was, but just moved. I think the new tasting room opens Saturday. They are now on the southern side of Portland.

I’d probably hit Novare Res first if it was a short trip like yours sounds like. If your staying downtown you could walk to a few other places easily as well, Liquid Riot, Little Tap House, Duckfat, etc

Are there any places to skip? I go to Portland often for work, but never for leisure. I’ve had lunch at Duckfat and go to Eventide every few months. I was thinking Slab for dinner Thurs or Lunch Fri.

I think kings head is far and away the best tap list and a nice relaxed place too. Id definitely make sure to go there. Oxbow’s also a top 3 brewery in new england for me so i always go there but i know not everyone likes 4% subtle table beers ha

Though I hate their new name, I love Liquid Riot. Usually the only place I’ll try and hit twice in a trip if I’m in Portland for a couple days. Food is great, beers are great and usually a few weird ones in the mix.


I’ll be up again at the end of the month for a few days.
