“Visited December 2023. Classic Getränkemarkt with a big assortment of all beers from Straubing (i.a. Karmeliten, Kleines Brauhaus) and many more from Eastern Bavaria (Klett, Klosterbräu Mallersdorf, Hofmark, Hintereder, Rhaner, Falter, Wolferstetter) - some really nice and rare finds! Prices are super cheap, staff is super friendly for a Getränkemarkt! Your place to go when in Straubing for some ticks.“

“Visited July 2013. Visited the tap, Zum Weisbrau, right next to the brewery, and sat in the back in a small outside enclosed area that served as the biergarten. Not too scenic and just a bit scruffy. There was only a small group of friendly locals at one table. The inside was like a typical German restaurant/bar as I remember from walking through it. I had the Rohrbrau Helles on draught and Straubinger Weisse in bottle, both good. I wouldn’t say this place was worth going out of your for, nor was Straubing, at least beerwise. The Good Beer Guide Germany states that the other brewery in town, Karmeliten, beers are easy to find but I did not find this to be the case. Arcobrau seems to dominate. In fact, after walking around the town center for quite a time I had hard time finding any decent place to have a beer. Rohrl is a 10-15 walk from the station.“

“Well assorted Getränkemarkt in an industrial estate in the western suburbs of Straubing, the Karmeliten-Brauerei is almost just around the corner; all the Straubing beers (Karmelten, Röhrl) can be found there, many brews from the neighbourhood (Aldersbacher, Arco, Wolferstetter) are available, too; plus - the icing on the cake - rare birds from Mallersdorf and the Bavarian Forest brewery Klett Konzell. Worth a detour!“
