Trinkgut Kleve (Beer Store)
BRIENER STR. 46
“Large 'getraenke halle' just outside the city center. Large free parking in front of the shop. A lot of drinks, like all Trinkgut stores. Quite nice selection of classic German beerstyles according to this kind of German shops. Some craft beers. Almost everything German. Some more shelves with separate bottles than in many other Trinkgut shops that I visited. Cheap. Nice shop to visit once in a while for German classics.“

Edeka E center Kleve (Grocery Store)

“The Edeka is actually a very large supermarket with a large wine section with some ciders and a very small beer section with a few Veltins pilsener bottles (Not even enough to flush your curry wurst), alkohol frei beer and radlers. Across the street is the Getrankehal. It is filled with rather boring stuff, just a few micro's if you look hard.“

Trinkgut Kleve (Beer Store)

“Standard getrankehal with all the usual in large quantities. You probably will find some ticks, and some more crafty stuff. Bit better sorted and more friendly than the Trinkgut in Emmerich.“

“Warehouse offering mainly crates of German Macro-brews. Some singles of vaguely interesting stuff from smaller breweries.“

Trinkgut Kleve (Beer Store)
BRIENER STR. 46
“Op een industriezone aan de rand van de stad, typische ongezellige hal. Grote selectie Duitse bieren met enkele bekende internationale bieren. Niet veel bijzondere zaken, vooral ingericht op de bulkverkoop. Prijzen zijn betaalbaar.“

Edeka E center Kleve (Grocery Store)

“Haven’t been in the main supermarket, but the seperate beer store is nothing too special. Selection was a bit disappointing, mainly the bigger brands pils, koelsch and weizen, and a lot of beer/cola mixes (seems to be the new hit in Germany?) Less than a handfull actually interesting brews (that is, if you’re not just looking for ticks, but also want some quality in your shopping). I prefer the Trinkgut in the same city, it’s somewhat cheaper, and has more to choose from (though both focus on selling bigger volumes of German lagers rather than selling Germany’s finest)“

“This is basically a huge supermarket in Kleve, Germany. In the main building you can find fruits and vegetables, household items, food etc, whatever you can find in a supermarket but in larger quantities. We skip this and we go to the beer/liquor section that is of interest. Here you will find mostly beers in cans and six packs of 330 ml bottles, a couple of times I have taken singles out of them when the six pack was already torn, but I am not sure you are allowed to start ripping boxes just to get a bottle out of them. Selection is nothing special, mostly macro pilseners, radlers and other beer mixes. Some good wines and hard liquor as well. When you go out though and on your left, you find the separate liquor store. Here, things are much more exciting. Shelves full of different beers, aisles full of crates of beer. Again six packs and cans with beer mixes, but you can just pick up singles from the shlves or from the crates lying around. The selection is much bigger, with weizens, bocks, schwart beers etc, also lots of polish beers and a bunch of czechs beers too. Every now and then they have mixed six packs of 500 ml bottles, from microbreweries, a bit more expensive though than the other ones. Bottom line, if you are in the area, it worths a visit, if not for the quality of beers, then surely for the quantity, don’t forget that tickers gotta tick.“

Trinkgut Kleve (Beer Store)
BRIENER STR. 46
“If heading East out of the Netherlands, this is the first Trinkgut to be found. Just very useful if you want to stock up a few crates of cheap, good quality German beer.“

Trinkgut Kleve (Beer Store)
BRIENER STR. 46
“Good selection of German beers, seasonal highlights and quite cheap by Dutch standards. All in the cosy setting of a big storage hall. The beers are in sections in the isles, weizen with weizen, dunkel with dunkel, and the like.
There are Trinkgut stores in other places, this one just happens to be the one near Nijmegen -where I happen to live-, and (arguably) the best choice for finding German beers if you are living in this general area.“
