UPDATED: OCT 11, 2021 Nearly black with a brown head. Aroma is french roasted coffee, dark chocolate, caramel and ash. Taste is medium sweet and heavy bitter.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2021 Thin tan head left a collar on a mahogany coloured still body. Malt & raisin aroma. Aniseed, caramel, roasted & nutty tastes with a tangy finish. Nice one.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2020 (Bottle) Black colour with dense, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, liquorice, black coffee, black rye bread, prunes and rum raisins. Roasted, malty taste with liquorice, dark chocolate, espresso, black rye bread, prunes, raisins and a generous roasty bitterness in a slightly vinous finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Thick, rich and very tasty with lots of flavours. Still in really good balance. Great beer.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2020 Thanks to Ian for this gem so long ago. Pours inky black with a small white wisp. Aroma is rich roasted malt, low coffee and some dark chocolate. Taste is smokey roasted malt, mocha, dry bitterness and some sweet dark chocolate in the end.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2020 750ml bottle, I picked this up in BottleDog, when it was open years ago, so it must be 5 years old. Consumed at home, 4th December 2020. Pours black and thick. Aroma is dark malts, roasted malts, liquorice, chocolate. Taste is dark and rich, so smooth and effortless to drink, liquorice, coffee, wood, dark malts, very roasty and good and bitter, never too sweet. Classic and impressive Imperial Stout
