Ha, yeah, Niigata. That’s something quite special. |
New Mikkeller pop-up bar opened in Nakameguro. It’s a pretty fun place and should fill the gap until the new bar nicely. |

Kaji san from El Nubichinom just opened another bar called Noge West End, will try to check it soon. |
The Wife just sent me this photo. This is by the Gotanda Station. I am thrilled because it’s 3 blocks from the apartment. Someone commented on facebook that might open around June 1st. |
Has anyone bought Cascade beers in Japan? I just looked on Taniguchi’s website and three new beers are in with the cheapest being 4700 yen, which is ridiculous IMO. Even thought Noyaux is their number rated beer and has a 3.96 rating, paying 5100 yen is just not worth it IMO. I know we have talked about this before, but really how can a brewery justify a beer over 5000 yen? |
Noyaux is almost $40 in california. So the mark up isn’t too bad. |
FYI, I’ve made a small change to one place listed as Tokyo Station (Daimaru and Hasegawa Liquors). I’ve now indicated that it just includes to the two Hasegawa liquor stores as Daimaru selection has fallen off a cliff and Natural Lawsons offers more interesting stuff. |
Yeah, I saw that. Daimaru is now on a seperate floor and sucks. Both Hasegawa have also gotten a little dull. |
