UPDATED: FEB 5, 2024 75 cl. bottle, bought I don't remember when, served at home in an Oerbier glass. Pours dark red colour, minimum head with short retention, sticky lacing. Lots of floaties stuck in the neck of the bottle. Aroma is very funky, red wine, cider, vinegar, leather, dried fruits, pepper, bananas. Pungent. Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation, sour finish. Taste follows the aroma, with some chocolate and berries. Fantastic.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2023 330ml bottle @ home. Vintage 2015. Pours a lightly hazy medium brown colour with little to no head. Nose is red wine, light balsamic, and some wild yeasts. Flavour is interesting red wine, tangy dried grapes, Flanders yeasts, caramel, and light balsamic. Medium bodied, mild carbonation, and a balanced sweetness to acidity. Very tasty example of a Flanders Red.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2023 Poured from 330mL bottle (2015 vintage; 13% abv). Hazy orangey amber brown with minimal white head. Woody, mild tartness, dark fruit, touch of vinegar. Maybe a bit old, but flavours still blend nicely.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2022 Flaska från Etre. Vintage 2017, flaskad i maj 2020. Mörk brunsvart med moccafärgad krona. Doft och smak av sura körsbär och mandeltoner från körsbärskärnor, djup syra, mycket fat. I bakgrunden toffee och ljusrostade kaffebönor. Stor, fyllig, vinös och elegant. Ligger kvar i munnen länge.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2022 Aroma: cherry, prune, caramel, oak, alcohol. Appearance: clear dark mahogany color topped with a lasting one-fingered tan head. beautiful lacing. Taste: cherry, prune, caramel, oak, alcohol, medium sweetness, medium bitterness, medium-high sourness. Palate: watery texture, astringency, moderate carbonation, sour and dry finish, mild boozy. Overall: Booziness slightly outweighs its richness. A little different from other oud bruin that I've had, it somewhat balances towards sourness, dryness, and bitterness. Reminiscent of red wine.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2022 Shared with Wim and Bart at Kuliminator during closing holidays 2022. Beer from 2010. Hazy amber colored beer with small white head and no carbonation visible. Sour fruited oak aroma. Full slight sparkling palate and slight sour palate. Finish is fruited sour dry alcoholic. Very nice one!

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2022 Pours clearish mahogany with a nice eggshell head. Aroma features tart dark fruit, red wine, a little malt. Flavor gives tart cherry with a little plum, red wine, roast malt, a little wood. Texture presents firm body and peppy fizz. Reserve some while you can.

UPDATED: JUN 14, 2022 Bottle (well case actually) from Gleemer Imports in Toronto. The oak and aserbic sour blend together on the inital sip, supported by dried cherries and raisins, and a sweet doughy roasted malt. The sour lingers with the fruit with some staying power. Very nice

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2022 Je merkt dat er aandacht gestoken is in dit brouwsel. Het toch al rijke Oerbier, onopvallende complex, is verheven door de vatlagering. En dan is er gekozen voor hoogstaande Bordeauxvaten, waarvan de tannine, het hout en de rode druif veel smaak afgeven aan het bier. Krachtig aroma, waarin de genoemd elementen een hoofdrol hebben.
