UPDATED: FEB 27, 2022 Bottle from Systembolaget. Did I really pay this much for a cider?!? Anyway. This is clearly a masterclass in perry. They get the entire pear from its flesh to its soft pippy middle. It feels like particuarly ripe to overipe pears were used. The aroma is of course pear, as is the taste, but there is a champagney element to it all. Very lively fizz that quickly fizzes off like a chemical reaction.Very sweet ending. It isn't quite an orgasm but it is very good. I prefered the Pacroy Domfront though which felt a little more mature.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2021 23/6/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear pale gold with a beige tint and short lasting bubbly white head. Aroma of baked pear, apple strudel, caramel, slight mucky edge. Medium sweetness and moderate sour. Moderate body, oily texture, gently fizzy carbonation. Lovely sweet and tart finish. Super drinkable. Really liked this.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2021 2016 Vintage. juz sam korek swiadczy o wysokiej jakosci tegoz cydru.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2021 750ml wired cork bottle from Cat in the Glass. Opened with a pop. Pale golden colour, fizzy & bubbly white foam head that dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of sweet juicy pear, caramel, apple pie hint. Taste is sweet, juicy, some tartness, pear, fleshy, with caramel, vanilla and some drying tannins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet & tannic finish. Very drinkable.

5%, iflg etiketten.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2020 I Presented as B Eric Bordelet Poiré /B, 4.5% /I Small white head, fed by fine pearling in faintly pinkish tinted golden liquid. Fruity nose, more apples than pears it would seem. After some time, an aroma as from Poire William liqueur, all the same. Very cidery, faint hint at caramel. Pretty sour in taste, with a sweet apple-caramel flavour always overlying. Really tart, bit earthy warming up. Titillating feel from the acidity and the CO². Quite slick, as pressed fruitjuice, slightly condensed. Good, but I've had much better perries in the UK.

Sigmund (13408) - Tau, NORWAY - AUG 19, 2020
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2020 Rerate, 750 ml corked & caged bottle, as Eric Bordelet Poiré Authentique, from Être Gourmet, Belgium. ABV is 5%. Clear and very pale straw colour, pours sparkling with a moderate head that actually lasts a while. Aroma of pears, a hint of sulphites. Flavour of pears with some acidity (probably over the top already), hints of sulphites. Original rating: 330 ml bottle, simply called Eric Bordelet Poiré, but I assume this is the same perry, with 'Authentique' reserved for the corked 750 ml bottles. The ABV, however, is 4.5%, not 4% as Bordelet's home page says. Bottle bought from Être Gourmet, Belgium. Very pale yellow colour, pours sparkling with a shortlived white head. Moderate aroma of pears. Semi-dry (or semi-sweet, if you like) flavour of pears, a hint of sulfites. Nice enough to drink, but not extraordinary.
