Deep burgundy color with a big, fluffy head. Complex fruit aromas with a layered sweetness (honey, then caramel, then toffee) with a hint of licorice and chocolate. A big, rich, abbey-style ale that dries out nicely on the finish.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2020 12oz bottle at Peculier Pub, New York on 04/04/2008. Quite possibly the best American dubbel I’ve ever had. Just completely spot on; this would be a fantastic example even in Belgium.

Learninbeer (1141) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - JAN 19, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 19, 2020 The aroma is a little sweet, honey. Pours dark reddish brown with fully diminishing light tan head. The taste is a medium bittersweet. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation average. Very good beer, this 11 years old and still is holding up well.
