My mother actually lives in the country of the this town. I knew this was happening but did not know they be open this soon since there was no word for quite some time. I’ll be going there in a couple of weeks so hopefully they will be open again.

Several updates have piled up over the last couple of weeks: 12welve Eyes in St. Paul has not yet opened its taproom to the public, but it debuted its beer at the Music in Mears event in St. Paul yesterday. Shuttered South Fork Brewing in Delano has been sold, and the new owner (rumored to be a minority investor in the previous incarnation, but I can’t confirm that) is planning to reopen it as Brass Foundry Brewing Co. I’m told the new owner is aware of and plans to ameliorate a cleanliness problem in the brewing equipment that haunted South Fork. http://www.trademarkia.com/brass-foundry-brewing-co-87376926.html Imminent in Northfield (not to be confused with the also recently opened Tanzenwald in Northfield) softly opened its taproom the weekend of May 26. Pryes’ grand opening of its taproom in Minneapolis is Saturday, June 17. http://mspmag.com/eat-and-drink/foodie/sneak-peek-pryse-brewings-new-downtown-taproom/ Unmapped in Minnetonka, Facebook, yesterday: "We are getting very, very close! We have four beers fermenting right now, and three of them should be ready by next weekend (the 17th). Stay tuned for an official announcement of our soft opening date- we can’t wait to share our beer with you all!" Outside of the metro area, a BIP in Little Falls called Starry Eyed Brewing Company is in the works. Hat tip to Chaz. Perhaps the two most highly anticipated Minnesota brewery openings of the year, Barrel Theory in St. Paul and Hoops in Duluth, also seem to be getting very close to opening.

Some updates: Roma Restaurant & Brewery, Willernie, Facebook, June 3: “Beer Patio now open for the season! More House-made beers in the works. Brewery Grand opening coming this Summer.” Roma’s restaurant is open now. Roma has served Roma-branded beers that were contract-brewed at the since shuttered Sidhe Brewing in St. Paul, but I don’t know if any remain on tap. A quick update on Shakopee Brew Hall in Shakopee from June 8: http://www.swnewsmedia.com/shakopee_valley_news/news/local/shakopee-brew-hall-looking-at-summer-debut/article_e30c63f9-d1a4-5396-b953-fb127685bbf4.html Union 32, Eagan, StarTribune, May 31: “Union 32 Crafthouse (union32crafthouse.com) will boast a five-barrel brewing system and offer house-made beers, including an IPA and a Kolsch, at its debut in late June.” Given that its brewing equipment arrived on June 8, color me skeptical of a late June beer release (but, since it’s a brewpub, it could open the bar before its house-brewed beers are ready). http://www.startribune.com/twin-cities-first-self-pouring-brewpub-to-open-this-summer/425503863/ Yoerg Brewing, St. Paul, Facebook, June 10: “We are looking at a soft opening sometime in August, with a grand opening around September 1st. Stay tuned.” Yoerg Pub will be a full-service restaurant and bar, but Yoerg will continue to distribute packaged beer contract-brewed at Octopi in Waunakee, Wisconsin (see previous posts for an explanation of how this practice is legal). Outside of the Twin Cities area, Joe Pond of Olvalde Farm and Brewing Company in Rolling Rock (quietly one of the best breweries in the state, in my opinion) is contemplating a malt house and taproom. He also announced an upcoming collaboration with Oakhold, which itself remains in planning in Midway Township. Olvalde is one of the few breweries in the state that lacks a taproom. The link goes to a newer beer podcast, “On Tap with Corey and Ira,” which concentrates on south metro and southern Minnesota breweries. I consider it well worth a listen. https://ontapnorthfield.wordpress.com/2017/05/27/olvalde-farm-and-brewing-co/

Another Growler article reports that Unmapped in Minnetonka is scheduled to open on Saturday, June 17 (the same day as Pryes opens in Minneapolis). https://growlermag.com/now-open-damn-close-unmapped-brewing-company/
