COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our most award-winning beer, Robust Porter honors the dark, full-bodied ales that were a favorite of dockworkers and warehousemen (hence the name “Porter”) in 19th century London, where the style originated.
It’s a good bet that when Dickens’ Mr. Pickwick sat down for a pint, his beer would have been very similar to our Robust Porter. This smooth, deceptively drinkable beer features an assertive hop profile which accentuates signature flavors of coffee and dark chocolate.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2022 It pours very dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is excellent. It has aromas of chocolate and coffee with some light dark fruits. It has roast and chocolate flavors with dark fruits. The most prominent dark fruit is plums. There are low levels of coffee in the background. It has a medium body and has medium high bitterness in the finish. Overall, well balanced and flavorful porter that is quick easy drinking in spite of the bit of a bitter bite.

Foxbush (3502) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 28, 2018
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2021 12 oz bottle from Total Wine and More in Short Pump, VA This was truly a pleasure from the first sip to the last swallow. The aroma of chocolate malts, roasted malts and coffee greet you. The rich flavors of this porter are amazing. I am hopeful I can find a six pack of these babies. The porter has a medium body with soft carbonation. The porter finishes cleanly with you coming back for more. Enjoyed another with oysters on the Rappahanock River at Merrior.
